A seemingly well-organized crusade against Spore’s DRM scheme (a system intended to make pirating the software more difficult) has led to a wave of negative customer reviews for the game on Amazon. So far the crusade has had a hugely negative effect on the game’s overall Amazon rating, but it remains to be seen if Spore’s publisher Electronic Arts will respond to the criticism by changing the way the DRM works.

Spore’s release date has been pushed back yet again — this time to September 2008. It’s still available for pre-ordering from Amazon.
After years of waiting, Spore will officially be released on March 3, 2008. Now is the time to pre-order your copy from Amazon. Also, see Amazon for a new demonstration video showing all stages of the game in all its glory.
Spore publisher Electronic Arts announced that the game isn’t planned for release in the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2008. This apparently pushes Spore’s release to Spring 2008 at the earliest.
Game site Kotaku posted some new Spore videos highlighting the game’s five phases of evolution.
